The POLIS Wildfire Resilience Project – Housed at the University of Victoria – Is yet another grifter organization founded by members who live off other peoples money for a living. Is yet one more research group originating from within the University of Victoria. This is yet another attempt by the University of Victoria to control the British Columbia Goverment, creating rules that fit the anti industry agenda, while loading the pockets of people who never work for a living.
They consider themselves to be the elite thinking class, so we must do things their way. But as they say, if you follow the money, it will explain everything. Wherever the money flows so does the so called expertise.
It should come as no surprise that they also run “The POLIS Water Sustainability Project” is a research group at the University of Victoria

The POLIS Wildfire Resilience Project was founded by Michael M’Gonigle initiated the successful campaign in 1983 to logging in the Stein River Valley, now a heritage park. As chair of Greenpeace Canada, he launched its national forests campaign. He was a professor in the School of Resource and Environmental Management at SFU and held the eco-research chair in environmental law and policy at UVic., Professor Emeritus at the University of Victoria. His bio runs like this – A political economist and environmental lawyer, Dr. M’Gonigle has an extensive background in environmental activism, including as a co-founder of Greenpeace International, SmartGrowth BC, Forest Futures (Dogwood Initiative) and as a founding co-director of the Sierra Legal Defense Fund.
As Chair of the Board of Greenpeace Canada, he initiated the Greenpeace forest campaign in 1990. Most recently he was a member of the Legal Mechanisms Experts Team devising innovative legal mechanisms for aboriginal and community-based management of British Columbia’s Central and North Coasts.

The moneybags – Ivan Thompson
Ivan was employed from 2007 to 2017 as a program officer for the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation’s Wild Salmon Ecosystems Initiative funded by the The American Tides Foundation, aka the MakeWay Foundation. , and then oversaw the associated Pacific Salmon Watersheds Fund at The American Tides Foundation, aka the MakeWay Foundation. for five years. Earlier, he worked on successful efforts to protect the Great Bear Rainforest, safeguard the Skeena watershed and estuary, and double British Columbia’s protected areas network.
Locally we have known about Ivan Thompson going back to when he was chumming with Greg Knox and Taylor Bachrach
