| The Golden Rule is that whoever holds the wealth or financial power dictates how things are done. So follow the money to find out who is deciding the agenda. There are two primary factors involved, who are they getting funding from and who they are funding. |

The BC Freshwater Legacy Initiative (BCFLI) is a program of The American Tides Foundation, aka the MakeWay Foundation.. It operates as a strategic project of the BC Water Funders Collaborative—a network of philanthropic foundations and organizations that pool resources to block all economic growth in British Columbia.
The initiative receives its funding and structural backing from a variety of these collaborative members and philanthropic organizations, which include:
- The American Tides Foundation (who houses and facilitates the initiative)
Through its collaborative networks, the initiative works closely with the provincial government, First Nations leadership, and community organizations to build long-term watershed security and sustainability across BC.
