Industry is the backbone of our nation, we regulate it, we have laws to protect the environment, and we as a society foolishly allow individuals from other nations to undermine Canadian Industry.
We are not talking about industrial proposals, we are talking about seriously damaging industrial projects that have passed all the required checks and balances society is demanding from them.
These organizations are spending billions of dollars to run up the costs of legitimate projects, we allow organizations to go far beyond demonstration or showing opposition, we allow them to blockade, hinder, cause delays with the intent of doing harm, we turn a blind eye to sabotage, wilful destruction of property and economic terrorism. We allow them to pay groups to do the dirty work for them.
Its time we had a law, that said any individuals who want to manipulate public opinion be required to have financial audits of all funds coming and going from each organization. Even donations exceeding $500 Dollars from citizens and non citizens must be declared.
Free speech is one thing, manipulating public opinion should never be allowed unless its 100% open to public scrutiny.
The public has a right to know how much money you are earning from trying to shut down industry in our region, we have a right to know what you spent on each activity used to manipulate public opinion or resulting in costs to industry.
We need a public list of all actions using donations to pay the costs, the intent of the actions and the costs of each action, full public disclosure.
Over the past few years we have seen a growing number of “creative influence peddling” by individuals and local and foreign funded organizations that often use a money laundering system of hiding where the money came from. And what they spent the money on, this needs to stop, we need a law.
Canada and British Columbia already have regulatory bodies that are controlled by our existing voting system. However organized individuals are circumventing the traditional decision making process by way of extortion, harassment and political influence peddling, and even the illegal use of foreign funds to influence to the outcome of elections.
Recall this Sep 16, 2022 ? “Elections B.C. and the provincial NDP on Thursday said they were both investigating whether Dogwood improperly contributed to the campaign for Anjali Appadurai, a climate activist and former federal candidate, who is challenging David Eby to become party leader — and ultimately premier.”
We know Dogwood funds were used to create public outrage at the Coastal Gaslink Pipeline construction.
We know Kia Nagata is the communications director for Dogwood and is working in cahoots with the Gitxsan resistance to every industrial project.
We know Taylor Bachrach and his wife have a rich past with the Sierra Club and the Bulkley Valley Research Centre We know all of these environmental organizations are joined at the proverbial hip.
We know when Taylor Bachrach ran for office, Smithers residents were getting support call from Victoria, why was that? Was the Sierra Club actively campaigning for Taylor? We will never know because these organization hide in a cloak of secrecy.
The use of billions of dollars coming out of United States by organizations like The American Tides Foundation, aka the MakeWay Foundation. , Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation , Wilberforce Foundation, The David and Lucile Packard Foundation, Natural Resources Defence Council, Bullitt Foundation, Center for Science in Public Participation, Salmon Beyond Borders, The Swift Foundation are funding over 60 Environmentalist Organizations that are attacking, and influence peddling and meddling in the affairs of BC’s northern communities. We have a list of 60 Organizations funded mostly by Americans, to insure the very resources we have will not compete with American Resources.
Do not misunderstand, we must always keep the right to public protest or objection, but it must come from Canadians, not corporate Americans.
The onslaught against the Coastal Gaslink Pipeline is a prime example of Corporate America using Canadians to punish Canadians for trying to share the market in the oil and gas sector. They paid these 60 plus organizations to do everything they could to block or stall the project including using money to buy aboriginal support.
We have accumulated hundreds of cases where funds from the USA were used to buy anti industrial support from First Nations. Mostly it was never the leadership, but some money hungry individuals from inside these nations.
We need a law that tracks the cash, every organization that is trying to influence the public, or the voters need to have an audit system that accounts where every dollar came from, and where every dollar spent is accounted for, its the only way to insure Canadian are protected from those individuals who are playing an active role in what only the Canadian public should be deciding.
We Need a Law – That governs Vote Manipulation.
Ethical rules of conduct by all organizations, media outlets and websites that are funded, and or, to influence the voters and financed by any sources outside of its board of directors on both elected and non-elected organizations. Any organization that uses public education, advocacy, protest, negotiation and non-violent direct action tactics or pays others, to achieve its goals using any money other than personal funds should be required to have an official audit, all funding received or distributed must be accounted for and that information must be public.
Contrary to leftists claims that environmentalist support is a gauge of public support, this is a outright lie, almost all support is obtained by way of funding misleading and false advertisements and organized staged protests by paid protestors
Hiding funds coming in and or being disbursed must be considered fraud.
