Smithers Climate Action Group – 350.org – Draw the Line

Last page edit: November 24, 2025

Based out of Brooklyn New York. the organization employs a staff of more than 100 people, who are based in dozens of cities around the world. 26 Its board of directors includes Bill McKibben and eight other longtime progressive activists, one of whom, Naomi Klein, is also well known for her anti-Israel views. So no surprise the Smithers event had 4 clearly identifying as Palestinian supporters by wearing the Palestinian keffiyeh.

Greg Tamblyn and Tina Portman are the founding members back in 2020, however it seems the group never really got off the ground. Our first encounter with this group was when they hosted the 350.org‘s Hold the Line Event where activists and obstructionists join hands in an attempted show of force. An attempt to manipulate the press into telling the world that massive numbers of people support their call. Below we name the people who showed up to protest on behalf of the the American 350.org.

“Clearly there is no such thing
as position of conflict when it comes to the NDP governing British Columbia.”

The turnout in Smithers was impressive, or was it? 45 people attended the march down Smithers Main Street, Two of those worked for Smithers Community Radio while under the pretext of reporters they joined in the walk as participants. Likewise another one is employed at Moose Radio but was clearly participating in the protest. Considering this was a group comprised of members from Hazelton, Kispiox Witset, and Smithers, that would be less than 1% of our population.

Is it just me that noticed, the leftist protests ail seem to now include Palestinian/anti Israeli protesters,  2SLGBTQI+, anarchists, aboriginal anarchists, and NDP organizers. Coincidence? I don’t think so. This protest was no exception. These very small groups with nothing in common, banding together to appear mainstream. They want to appear as a majority, and ramrod thier perspectives down the public’s throats. They are very small in number and very loud in public nuisance antics, they prefer protests over dialogue and demand society conforms to their beliefs.

As the saying goes, the devil is in the details, or what they did not want the public to know. In particular who funds this event.  350.org is based in the USA, Brooklyn, New York and not long ago ran commercials asking for people in Smithers who might be interested in protesting, and this American Organizations would pay them (see ad below). This hardly sounds like democratic dialogue as opposed to buying protesters. Protests begin when dialogue has ended, so it begs the question of where protest supports or infringes on democracy? Is a protest a result of failing to win public support, or is it in support of keeping democracy alive. This is the key difference between a democratic protest as opposed to radical protests. Public protest is a sign of an unhealthy democracy, a last resort, not a first choice. Is it because elected governments are failing to listen to society, or is it being used to manipulate government as a form of extortion? Forcing goverment to obey the will of a small minority?

“For far to long evil people have used “democracy” as a means to destroy democracy, the greatest danger comes from within, not evil empires abroad.”

The following was one part of three, advertising a paid position, to organize and protest for 350.org

There is more, much more devil in the details. If you think the above is despicable, rest assured we have much more. Most people think we live in a rational world where most things are above board, in particular when it comes to insuring honesty and integrity in regards to being the Head, Environmental Impact Assessment for the B.C. Ministry of Environment and Parks. One would think heading a activist organization, working with American funded organization trying to shut down Canada, would constitute a serious conflict of interest.

Sarah Parks Newton was one of the Fairy Creek protesters from the lower mainland, and is a full time environmental obstructionist. A career activist, moved to Smithers. She has geared her attack in using our children as part of a master plan to change society to accommodate her version of what this world should be. Using our children by manipulating the education system.

And if that was not enough conflict, look at the next screenshot, Greg Tamblyn is in charge of our Bulkley Valley Resources Board, would you want to do business with a loaded deck? Somehow the c0nflict of interest is overlooked? The NDP are notorious for doing just that.

How can anyone expect a fair and just environmental impact assessment when the person in charge has personal affiliations with organizations that deliver decisions that are influenced by connections from outside of Canada. Would he serve the people or American interests like 350.org ?

Based on video from security footage, we can confirm the following individuals took part in the American funded propaganda rally. Unfortunately we cannot post the video or it would disclose the location of the camera. The footage is quite clear however identifying individuals will take some time as not all protesters faced the camera. There are 45 people involved, they marched down Main Street and set up next to Subway. The Doctors involved belong to a tiny fraction of Canada’s medical doctors, less than 3% that actively opposed LNG. That is less than 3% of doctors are opposed to LNG.

Note this list is a work in progress, as we identify more participants in this foreign sponsored protest march.

  • Logan Flint I read your report in MyBulkleyNow, and see you like to exaggerate the numbers, if you subtract reporters 3 of them, then subtract the wife of one of the reporters, then we are down to 41, not 50 participants as you claimed. Unless you admit the so called press, were all part of the protesters march down Main Street.
