Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment (CAPE)

| The Golden Rule is that whoever holds the wealth or financial power dictates how things are done. So follow the money to find out who is deciding the agenda. There are two primary factors involved, who are they getting funding from and who they are funding. |
If ever there was an radical environmentalist group that was operated under the “smoke and mirrors” this one takes the cake. Let me start with quoting just how deceitful they really are. CAPE CLAIM: Over 4,700 medical doctors (plus additional “concerned citizens”) are associated with CAPE. Then “In broader communications, CAPE describes its membership as including physicians, nurses, other health providers and workers, and members of the public, without giving a separate doctor‑only total” Now why would they not list the number of actual doctors? Unless they have something they wish to hide? In 2018, CAPE itself described its board as 10 physicians and one lawyer, illustrating the distinction between the organization’s leadership and its overall membership. CAPE’s 2024 CRA filing lists 13 directors/trustees.
BOTTOM LINE: CAPE deceitfully misrepresents the actual numbers of Doctors, because the TRUTH would destroy this credibility. The very title of the organization is ripe with deceit.
If they told the truth, would it amount to a dozen or more? There are 99,555 practicing physicians and they only have a handful pretending the represent the medical views in Canada, The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada should take action against these renegade doctors for false representation of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Now lets look at who funds them.
| Trottier Family Foundation – for building decarbonization work in BC “Infiltrated” | Ivey Foundation – to expand physicians’ voices on climate action. “Infiltrated” | McConnell Foundation |
| The Atmospheric Fund (TAF) “Infiltrated” | Definity Foundation – partner under its “Liveable Planet” program “Infiltrated” | partner under its “Liveable Planet” program “Infiltrated” |
On a more local note:
The Smithers town council voted 4-3 on July 14, 2026, to reject a request from the Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment (CAPE) regarding a health impact assessment of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) industry. Scamming locals with fear tactics, and misleading them with a false narrative that is not backed by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
