First Nations Fisheries Legacy Fund
The First Nations Fisheries Legacy Fund was established and funded by the Province of British Columbia, which made an initial $2 million contribution in 2013. In 2022, the Government of Canada and the BC government provided an additional $2.5 million investment to enhance the fund’s monitoring and geospatial mapping capabilities.
The fund is co-managed by six First Nations (Katzie, Kwantlen, Kwikwetlem, Musqueam, Tsawwassen, and Tsleil-Waututh) and is operationally supported by the Indigenous Stewardship Fund.
