BC Aboriginal Fisheries Commission
B.C. Aboriginal Fisheries Commission
The BCAFC is comprised of First Nations from across the province, as well as various First Nation organizations that participate as sovereign entities with ultimate responsibility for the management of their own fisheries. First Nations provide the BCAFC with it’s mandate and direction. The role of the BCAFC is not to represent First Nations but to act as a communication focal point and a facilitator for the government to government interaction. The BCAFC provides an efficient and effective means to support the dialogue and consultation that must occur in government to government relations.
